Card Counting

Card counting is a way to know when you or another player has an advantage in the game. This has been banned in many casinos as it is counted as cheating and it can get you banned from many casinos, not just the one you counted cards in.

There are a couple types of card counting, plain card counting and Back-counting. These methods are both good and can earn you a lot of money if you are professional, even though the method is mainly classed as cheating.

Back-counting or “Wong” as it is called, is where you stand behind a blackjack table that currently has people playing on and will view the players cards. Then will work out the advantages of winning. Then will enter the game or “Wong in” and will wait till the advantage is in his or hers possession and will exploit it for money. The player might raise the bets he puts on as slowly the chance increases and may lower it as it decreases. Professionals try to spread it out a bit to try to look realistic and as though they are counting the cards and waiting for their advantage. There are advantages and disadvantages to Back-counting. In many casinos if you gamble enough you will receive comps (Complimentary items or gifts) to persuade you into gambling more.
Another is if a player joins in the middle of the game it could mess up the system or it could be harder to work out who has the advantage. Of course there are advantages, this way is not perfect and you could believe you have an advantage when you don’t. But if you keep your bets low you wont need to change them much, (If you quickly bet triple or masses of money they can tell that you are more likely card counting) this helps prevent being kicked out of the casino.

You can make money from card counting; if you are good at card counting you can make around $50 per hour from it. Even though this does not sound a lot it can go up and down during the hour so one hour you may receive $50 the next $100. This is also a lot more than most other jobs, so it is well paid if you do it correctly. Even though you may believe you have a high chance of raising money from card counting you still have a less than 50% chance of winning and so do the other players so there is not a massive chance of you winning.
