Bet Low or Not at all

In the early stages of the game you should be folding at least 70% of the time. Unless you have a medium-high pair, don’t call. You should be looking to bet on your cards when they are good i.e. AA KK QQ JJ etc. You just need to think about the likelihood of getting a good hand.

Keep Folding

Folding may not sound like the way to win poker game, but actually in the early stages of the game it is better to fold and avoid being called all in. There are a lot of players who will risk high amounts of money early on in the game and you could risk losing all your money quite quickly. It’s better to stay out of the risk takers games and just stay “quiet” until the serious levels start. On PartyPoker.com it is wise to start betting on level 4 or 5.

Staying out of the risk taking games and keeping your betting to minimum is the best way to get past the hoards of people that drop out during the early stages.
